May is cheerful and social. She makes friends easily, though she tends to befriend men more frequently as women make her swoon*.When May has her heart set on something, she won't stop until she achieves it. She believes in herself and her dream even when others don't. This is both a strength and a weakness, as it can lead her to be quite stubborn.
* Like Sanji, May is a simp for women she finds attractive. However, rather than being forward like Sanji, May tends to be more bashful. Still, she would do just about anything a beautiful woman asked her to do.
Backstory
As a child, May ate a red fruit she assumed was an apple. This was actually a devil fruit, the HeHe Fruit, and it granted her helium powers. With this came the ability to make herself float, which sparked her idea of building an airship as a way of sharing her experience of flight with others.May left her home island of Stall as a teenager, traveling to the nearby island of Pucci and taking the Sea Train to Water 7. There she hoped to apprentice under the Galley-La shipwrights to learn the skills needed to build an airship. However, her idea of an airship was laughed off as a joke and she was turned away. That didn't stop her, though. Too stubborn to take no for an answer, she stayed at Water 7 and studied what she could on her own.While there, she encountered a man named Usopp who was dragging lumber by himself. She offered to lend him a hand and the two became fast friends. This chance encounter led to her being kidnapped alongside of him, first by the Franky Family and then by CP9. Left with no other option and motivated to help her new friend, now calling himself Sniper King, she traveled to Enies Lobby with the Straw Hat pirates and fought along side the Galley-La foremen and the Franky Family.After the battle was won and the celebrations ended, May met with Usopp who offered to let her apprentice under him and assured her he could secure her a place in the Straw Hat crew. She tagged along with him as he shouted his apology to the rapidly escaping Thousand Sunny and held onto his back when he took Luffy's extended hand.May's appearance was met with confusion by the rest of the Straw Hats, but after Usopp vouched for her, she was welcomed aboard as a passenger, later securing a place as a crew member. She serves the Straw Hats as an apprentice shipwright, studying under Usopp and Franky, believing that with their knowledge combined, she can achieve her dream of building an airship.

Powers/Abilities:
May ate the HeHe Fruit, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that granted her the ability to create, control, and transform into helium.The first skill May learned was to make her body float. This came with the side effect of a high pitched voice when used, and it led to teasing when showing her skills to other children during her childhood.Over time, May learned to compress helium to propel herself for proper flight. She also uses this technique when fighting in close range to increase the strength of her punches and kicks. At long range, May uses compressed helium as makeshift bullets and bombs.During the time skip, May learns how to liquify helium. She uses this cryogenic fluid to freeze and "burn" her enemies.May has the ability to suffocate her enemies with helium. She has only ever used this as a last resort.

Sanji
Pre-Timeskip:
- May and Sanji are both romantically inexperienced, despite (or maybe because of) their frequent simping for women- May falls for Sanji after tasting his cooking for the first time. This is partly because she is a foodie, and partly because, as she would say, he put his heart into that meal and she felt a greater understanding of him through it- Sanji initially simps for May similarly to every other woman he meets. Once he realizes that May genuinely returns his affections, he does his best to woo her and be romantic, however...- Sanji and May are both a little awkward and shy due to their inexperience- It is generally up to Sanji to make any moves as May is too bashful to do so herself- They share their first kiss and officially become a couple after arriving at Sabaody
Post-Timeskip:
- May and Sanji both spend the timeskip dreaming about reuniting- May has a lot of anxiety that Sanji will have moved on from her or found someone else, which leads to a lot of crying (tears of relief) after they finally find each other and run into each other's arms in Sabaody- The couple go on their first real date at a Sabaody restaurant before rejoining the rest of the crew- Canon events involving Sanji simping on other women differ within May's canon. Sanji is still a simp and will still do anything a beautiful woman asks, but he is only romantically interested in May- May also still simps for other women (often the same women Sanji does), but she is only romantically interested in Sanji*This section is still a WIP; last updated during Dressrosa
